After the success of Footsoldier Origins which both had a successful UK wide theatre release and achieving distribution around the world, chiefly, the US - producer Andy Loveday has brought the band back together for another outing on the next instalment of the ROTFS franchise. Featuring Nick Nevern as director, David Cohen editing and myself heading up the original music score.
As I write this, I’m just heading back from a really productive cue spotting session with Nick. Having already written some strong themes whilst developing the sound world of this new Footsoldier movie (that centres around Pat Tate’s story, set not long after Origins) it was great to start committing ideas and intentions to timecodes. I’m really excited for this film, it continues the good work Nevern initiated with Origins, diving deeper into the characters and shifting the brand into a darker and more poignant market position (in my opinion!).
Tomorrow, I will be sitting down to my score template in my Whitstable studio to start putting the score together.
Of course, I can’t give anything away - but there are some really brilliant set pieces and sequences superbly edited by David Cohen under Nick’s curation. Thanks guys for making my job easier!
Let’s do this 👊
