This was my first (and I hope not last!) red carpet affair and boy was it a crazy one. The energy and anticipation in the air was electric and as we walked in to Cineworld’s Empire I felt completely overwhelmed with all the posters, video wall sizzlers and the general throng of people. Maybe it was a reaction to being in a crowded space after so long of keeping clear thanks to covid or perhaps the Love Island style celebrities that adorned the foyer with actors from the film lining up for their photos, but in the end I enjoyed the spectacle that it was - it really is a crazy thing! The best bit for me was walking to my seats with my wife Abi and taking in the amount of people about to watch the film, and by default listen to my score. Even if no one ever goes to the cinema to see this again, over a thousand people watched the film that night and for good and bad reasons, that is in itself, thrilling! Another shout out to Nick Nevern the director for trusting me with this, David Cohen the editor and long time film making friend for his wisdom and guidance too and of course musicians Charlie Morland and Matt Hodge who helped bring the score to life. Mastered beautifully by Andy Jones too, ears I trust even more than my own. What a bloody day!! In cinemas from today so book your tickets now!
